Hello everyone, this is Maggie. My boyfriend and I found her walking down our street this week in 116 degree weather. The first picture is the day we found her. I wish I had gotten some closeups of her so you could see what bad shape she was in.
We’ve been searching for her owners with little luck, she’s not chipped - and we still need to make a vet appointment, and this is why this post is being made. We don’t have a lot of extra cash right now, but would at least like to get this sweet girl to a healthy, comfortable state of living before trying to find her a proper home.

We are currently trying to raise about $250 to cover initial checkup and any basic prescription medicines that will be prescribed.

If you would like to donate, we are currently taking donations though paypal; khagsie@gmail.com

Even a dollar would help!

A little more about Maggie:
The second day we had her, we started doing what we could for her. She was absolutely covered in ticks from head to toe. We removed around 200 of them, but as you can see from the bottom two pictures… There’s still a lot of work to be done.
She has open sores all over her body from biting and scratching at the ticks.
She appears to have been someone’s pet at some point. There’s a huge dog overpopulation here in Phoenix, AZ.. and we suspect she may have been dumped.
She’s very friendly. Excited to see people, and walks very nicely on a leash. However does not appear to know any commands. She even sat still for almost 3 hours and let us ‘manhandle’ her as we tried to remove all her ticks and gave her a bath.
Our ultimate goal is to get Maggie back to full health and find her a good home. if we cannot find anyone willing to take her, than we will keep her ourselves. I cannot send her to the humane society.. I fear the worst for her there. So many chihuahuas there, I think she would be overlooked.

Roommates found a lost doggy the other day. Anything would help.

I’ve had so many requests to turn one of my photos “I’ve got some ROYGBIV in my eye” into a drawing. So here it is.

Dance

I need to get back into photography, or just taking photos that aren’t on my phone. I miss being creative.

Pretty much my brain right now

A message from an artist. Some of my friends find it outrageous or not worth the prices I charge for my work. What they don’t understand is how much work actually goes into making a piece. The emotion that artists emit, the long hours taken to find the perfect shade of colors, all to bring the piece to life. The never ending mistakes we make, and the endless practice we endure to just be criticized by people who don’t and won’t understand. I’ve spent 4 hours on this piece and I’m only about 30% complete. It’s hard work, and the fact that I’m so happy doing it regardless of how hard it can be should be proof enough that my work is worth a damn.
